An instructor, teacher, or volunteer aged 18 and over who is employed in a setting where minors and youth are present must obtain employment clearance from the police, confirming there is no impediment to involving them in activities. The Penal Law requires reporting only if the victim is under 18. For an adult, there is no obligation to report. However, support and accompaniment should be offered, and referral to appropriate professionals should be recommended.
